Starving artists in a Parisian garret adopt a neighborhood girl as their friend and confidante. Puccini's La Bohème? Almost, but at Ohio Light Opera this season it is Emmerich Kálmán's 1930 hit show, The Violet of Montmartre. This heart-warming romance of old Montmartre features an engaging blend of Viennese sentimentality and Parisian passion with ever-present touches of jazz, Hungarian gypsy rhythms, and coloratura. Come hear the enchanting melodies of this fascinating work that will leave you humming and smiling.
